Documentation of the germplasm collections are a priority to all genebanks.
Information of the genetic origin of the seed accessions is of vital value
for the utility of the conserved germplasm in research or plant breeding.
Further the data from the genebank documenation systems is collected and combined in
various central databases of regional or global scope and different context.
EURISCO
EURISCO is a search portal to the combined accession level data from the European genebanks.
Data on the Multicrop Passport Descriptors (MCPD) from the individual genebank databases are
uploaded to the central database by the individual genebanks and combined to give a Europe wide
central database to these selected germplasm accession attributes.
SINGER
The System-wide Information Network for Genetic Resources (SINGER) is an information exchange network of the Future Harvest Centres of the Consultative Group on International Agricultural Research (CGIAR) and associated partners.
The members of SINGER hold more than half a million samples of crop, forage and tree diversity. This diversity is vital for food security and agricultural development.
SINGER is an initiative of the CGIAR System-wide Genetic Resources Programme (SGRP).
